Breakages happen when fragile items are rushed or under-packed. Here's how to protect your delicate belongings the way professionals do.
Use the Right Materials
- Bubble wrap, packing paper and foam sheets
- Sturdy double-walled cartons in the right sizes
- Strong tape and clear 'FRAGILE' labels
Item-by-Item Tips
- Glassware & crockery: wrap each piece individually; stack plates vertically (on edge), not flat.
- TVs & monitors: use the original box if possible, or corner protectors + a blanket, and always move them upright.
- Mirrors & frames: tape an X across the glass, wrap in bubble wrap and box on edge.
- Cutlery & small items: wrap in paper and fill empty carton gaps so nothing shifts.
Golden Rules
Never leave empty space in a fragile box, fill gaps with paper. Don't overpack a carton beyond what you can lift. Label every fragile box on all sides.
