LR / Lorry Receipt (Bilty, Consignment Note)
The transport document issued when goods are handed to a carrier. It records the consignor, consignee and goods, and acts as proof of shipment for an intercity move.
Pre-Move Survey
A free assessment of your goods (on-site or by video) before the move, used to give an accurate, fixed quotation with no surprises on moving day.
FTL (Full Truck Load)
A dedicated vehicle used only for your goods. Faster and more direct, ideal for larger homes and time-sensitive moves.
LTL / Part Load (Shared)
Your goods share a vehicle with other consignments. More economical for small homes or few items, with slightly longer transit times.
Transit Insurance
Optional cover that protects your belongings against loss or damage during transport. Recommended for high-value households and long-distance moves.
All-Risk Coverage
A comprehensive insurance option covering most accidental damage in transit, subject to the policy terms.
Doorstep / Door-to-Door Delivery
Pickup from your current address and delivery right to your new address, including loading and unloading.
Dismantling & Reassembly
Taking apart furniture such as beds and modular wardrobes for safe transport, then reassembling them at the new home.
Warehousing / Storage
Short or long-term storage of your goods in a secure facility between moves, with inventory management.
Inventory / Packing List
A checklist of every item packed, used to verify that everything arrives at the destination.
GST on Packers and Movers
Tax that may apply to relocation services - commonly 18% for full-service moves, or 5% for pure goods transport. Some smaller local movers are not GST-registered, in which case no GST is added.
Fragile Packing
Extra multi-layer wrapping (bubble wrap, cell boxes, corrugated sheets) for delicate items like crockery, glass and electronics.
Car & Bike Carrier
A specialised vehicle or crate used to transport cars and two-wheelers safely over long distances.
