Flat-screen TVs are among the most commonly damaged items in a move because the panel cracks under pressure. With an anti-static wrap, padding and an upright position, yours will travel safely.

What You'll Need
- Original TV box (ideal) or a padded TV box
- Anti-static wrap or soft cloth
- Bubble wrap
- Corner protectors
- Packing tape
- A zip bag for cables
How to Pack a Flat-Screen TV Step by Step
- Photograph the connections. Take a photo of the cable setup so reconnecting is effortless. Unplug everything and detach the stand or wall mount.
- Cover the screen first. Lay a soft cloth or anti-static wrap over the screen. Never press bubble wrap firmly against the panel.
- Wrap and protect corners. Bubble wrap the whole unit and add corner protectors, where most impact damage happens.
- Box it upright. Place the TV in its original or a padded box and fill gaps with foam. A flat-screen must always stand upright, never flat.
- Label and bag accessories. Mark the box "Fragile - This Side Up" and tape a labelled bag with the remote and cables to it.
- Load upright and secure. Stand the TV vertically in the vehicle, wedged between soft items so it cannot tip or slide.
Pro Tips
- Reuse the original box if you still have it.
- For a short local move, carry the TV upright in the car cabin.
- Never lay a flat-screen flat - the panel can crack under its own weight.
